Add text to the top of your website pages to keep your customers informed about your shop’s latest news.

To add your message, go to the Websites App and click on the website you want to edit.

Under the “Layout” tab, scroll down to the “Header Pods” section.

Select Add a line and create a “Page Section” pod. You can title this pod however you like; the title is just used for reference. Once you have created a “Page Section” pod, create a “Text” pod. You can add any text you like here, including links with a markdown tag.

Hide on mobile and desktop

Your message may look great on desktop but be too long for mobile. To ensure your mobile layout is functional, you can have two versions of your message, one shortened for mobile.

In the “Options” tab of your text box, there are two checkboxes: “Hide on mobile” and “Hide on desktop.” When selected, this text box will automatically hide when it is on the selected device screen.

In the “Header Pods” section, you will need to create two text pods if you want one message to appear on mobile and another on desktop.

Marquee

If you would prefer to have your text scroll, you can use the Marquee pod.

In the “Layout” tab, under the “Header Pods” section, instead of using a “Text” pod, select “Marquee”.

  1. Internal Name: This title will not be visible on the website; it is only used for organizing your content.
  2. Share: If you flag this pod, your chosen content and settings will be saved to be added easily throughout your website. *If you need to change this pod, you can adjust it in one instance, and it will automatically be updated throughout the site.
  3. Content: Add your text here.
  4. Scale Banner: Select from “Scroll” or “Alternate”. “Scroll” will scroll your text from one side to the other. “Alternate” will bounce your text from one end to the other.
  5. Scroll Direction: Choose to have your text appear from the left or right side of the screen.
  6. Scroll Amount: Select your scroll speed. “6” is the default speed.

Save and publish

To see your updated content on your website, you need to publish your page. In the Websites App, click on the Publish tab. Once there, click the Create button. On the next screen, you will select the website you want the page to publish to (if you have multiple websites) and check the Pages checkbox. Click Save at the top, then click Start.
