Blog Categories

The Blog Categories pod adds your blog categories in a word cloud. Each category is a link and will take you to the page of that blog category. You will need to create Blog Posts before you can add blog categories.

Creating Blog Categories

Before you can add the Blog Categories pod, you need to add it to your blog categories. In the Websites App, click Categories under the Blog tab. Then click the Create button in the upper left corner.

  1. Name: This name will be the name for your blog category
  2. Websites: Flag your website to publish the category. If you have multiple websites, all will be visible here.

Posts tab

When you click “Add a line” under the Posts tab, a pop-up will appear with all your blog posts. Here, you can search and select the posts you want to include in this category.

*You can also add your blog category when writing a blog post.

SEO tab

You can add your Meta Title and Description for your blog category page here.

Publishing your blog categories

The blog categories need to be published on your website. Follow the steps in the Save and publish section below, but instead, select the Products checkbox to publish your categories.

Adding the Blog Categories pod

Once your blog categories are set, we can add them to our Blog Categories pod. Blog Categories are a trunk-level pod. All that’s needed to add the Blog Categories to your page is adding the Blog Categories pod. That’s it!

  1. Internal Name: This title will not be visible on the website; it is only used for organizing your content.
  2. Share: If you flag this pod, your chosen content and settings will be saved to be added easily throughout your website. *If you need to change this pod, you can adjust it in one instance, and it will automatically be updated throughout the site.

Save and publish

To see your updated content on your website, you need to publish your page. In the Websites App, click on the Publish tab. Once there, click the Create button. On the next screen, you will select the website you want the page to publish to (if you have multiple websites) and check the Pages checkbox. Click Save at the top, then click Start.
