Manage Amazon Sales Directly from Odoo with Steersman’s Amazon Integration

Amazon integrationx

Selling on Amazon can create a separate workflow for inventory, orders, shipping, and fulfillment. Without an integration, your team may need to monitor Amazon Seller Central separately, re-enter orders into Odoo, manually update stock quantities, and send shipment information back to Amazon.

Our Amazon integration for Odoo brings these processes together by connecting Amazon with the sales, inventory, and fulfillment workflows you already manage in Odoo.

The integration is designed primarily for merchant-fulfilled Amazon orders, with Odoo acting as the operational source of truth for your inventory and fulfillment.

What Can Our Amazon Integration Do for You?

The integration supports several major workflows:

  • Synchronize inventory quantities from Odoo to Amazon
  • Match Amazon products with Odoo product variants
  • Import Amazon orders into Odoo
  • Automatically or manually confirm imported orders
  • Preserve Amazon shipping and delivery information
  • Send shipment and tracking information back to Amazon
  • Support partial shipments and multiple packages
  • Prevent duplicate order and shipment processing
  • Maintain logs for troubleshooting and auditing

Together, these features allow your Amazon orders to follow many of the same processes as sales coming from your other connected sales channels.

Product Matching Between Amazon and Odoo

For inventory and orders to synchronize correctly, your Amazon products need to be associated with the correct Odoo products.

The integration can match Amazon listings to Odoo product variants using Amazon Seller SKUs and product mappings. By default, the Amazon Seller SKU can correspond to the product’s Internal Reference in Odoo.

The integration supports both:

  • Automatically matched products
  • Manually mapped products

This is useful when your Amazon catalog does not match your Odoo product structure exactly.

For example, when dealing with auto parts, Amazon may contain several separate listings for a product based on vehicle application while Odoo represents those listings with a single product variant. Our integration architecture allows these differences to be handled through product mapping.

If an incoming Amazon order contains a SKU that cannot be matched, the integration can also use a configured Amazon Default Product so that the order can still be created for manual review.

Keep Your Amazon Inventory Up to Date

For participating products, Odoo is the source of truth for inventory.

Inventory quantities are calculated in Odoo and then sent to Amazon automatically. Amazon inventory is treated as downstream information and does not overwrite your Odoo inventory quantities.

You can configure which warehouses contribute to your Amazon availability. Inventory may come from:

  • A single warehouse
  • Multiple warehouses combined

The quantity sent to Amazon can also be calculated using configurable inventory rules.

For example:

Available Quantity = On Hand - Reserved - Safety Buffer

A safety buffer allows you to intentionally advertise fewer units on Amazon than are technically available in Odoo. This can reduce the risk of overselling when the same inventory is being sold through multiple channels.

If the calculated quantity reaches zero, the integration explicitly sends a quantity of 0 to Amazon so that the listing is marked out of stock.

Automatic Inventory Synchronization

Inventory synchronization runs automatically according to a configurable schedule.

Depending on your business’s needs, synchronization can run:

  • Hourly
  • Multiple times per day
  • Daily

This allows you to determine how quickly changes in your Odoo inventory should be reflected on Amazon.

The integration can also support one or more Amazon marketplaces, allowing the same inventory information to be synchronized to multiple marketplaces when required.

Importing Amazon Orders into Odoo

Amazon orders can be imported automatically into Odoo as Sales Orders.

During order creation, the integration can apply a configured:

  • Customer
  • Shipping address
  • Pricelist
  • Pricing source
  • Tax source

If specific values are not configured, standard Odoo behavior can be used instead.

The Amazon order remains traceable to its source, helping your team distinguish Amazon orders from orders entered manually or received from another integration.

The synchronization process also includes protections against duplicate orders and duplicate order lines.

Choose Between Amazon and Odoo Pricing

The integration can be configured to determine whether Amazon or Odoo is the source of truth for pricing and taxes.

This gives you flexibility based on how you manage your Amazon catalog.

If you maintain your selling prices directly in Amazon, we can bring those values into Odoo with the order.

Alternatively, you may prefer to use your Odoo pricelists and tax configuration to calculate those values internally.

Automatic Order Confirmation

Your Amazon orders do not necessarily need to be confirmed immediately after they are imported.

The integration includes a configurable Auto-Confirm Orders option.

When automatic confirmation is disabled, imported Amazon orders remain as Quotations for manual review.

When automatic confirmation is enabled, our integration checks inventory for every order line before confirming the Sales Order.

The order is automatically confirmed only when sufficient stock is available for every line.

If even one product does not have enough inventory, the order remains a Quotation instead.

The integration can also prevent automatic confirmation when the Amazon Default Product was used. This allows unmatched products to be reviewed by your team before the order continues through fulfillment.

Keep Your Amazon Delivery Information in Odoo

Amazon shipping information is also carried into Odoo.

The integration can store the buyer-selected Amazon shipping service level and map it to your internal delivery categories.

Examples include:

  • Standard domestic shipping
  • Expedited domestic shipping
  • Priority domestic shipping
  • International expedited shipping
  • Scheduled or appointment-based delivery

The Amazon delivery deadline can also be stored on the Sales Order using the shipping date information provided by Amazon.

This gives your Sales and warehouse teams visibility into Amazon’s fulfillment expectations without requiring them to work directly from Seller Central.

Sending Shipment Confirmations Back to Amazon

Once your warehouse fulfills an Amazon order in Odoo, the integration can send shipment confirmation information back to Amazon.

Shipment confirmations can include:

  • Carrier
  • Tracking number
  • Shipment date
  • Amazon order items
  • Quantity shipped

The confirmation is triggered after the applicable customer delivery is completed in Odoo.

If tracking information is missing, the shipment confirmation is not sent. This helps prevent incomplete shipment information from being reported to Amazon.

Partial Shipments and Multiple Packages

Your Amazon orders do not have to ship all at once.

The integration supports partial shipments, allowing part of an order to be shipped and reported to Amazon while the remaining items are fulfilled later.

Multiple physical packages are also supported.

Each package can generate its own shipment confirmation containing the items and tracking information associated with that package.

If no packages are created in Odoo, the shipment is treated as one package.

This allows the information reported to Amazon to more closely represent what was actually shipped to your customer.

Built-In Safeguards

Behind the scenes, our integration includes several safeguards designed to prevent duplicate or incorrect information from being transmitted.

For example:

  • Duplicate orders and order lines are prevented.
  • Previously sent shipment confirmations are detected and skipped.
  • Products without valid mappings can be skipped or directed to a default product.
  • Shipment confirmations without valid Amazon order items are not sent.
  • Inventory calculations cannot send a negative quantity to Amazon.
  • Failed synchronization attempts can be retried.
  • Amazon API rate-limit responses can be handled and retried.

These controls help make the integration suitable for ongoing automated synchronization rather than requiring your team to monitor every transaction manually.

Logging and Troubleshooting

Synchronization activity is logged so that your team and our support team can review what happened during an Amazon transaction.

For inventory synchronization, the integration provides visibility into the inventory values sent to Amazon and records errors or skipped items.

Shipment confirmation activity is also recorded, including whether a confirmation was successfully sent or intentionally skipped.

This gives our support team the information needed to investigate questions such as:

  • Why wasn’t an Amazon order imported?
  • Why did an order remain a Quotation?
  • Why wasn’t a shipment confirmation sent?
  • Which inventory quantity was sent to Amazon?
  • Was a particular synchronization successfully processed?

A More Connected Amazon Fulfillment Workflow for Your Business

Our Amazon integration allows you to manage Amazon sales from the same Odoo environment you use for your other sales, inventory, and warehouse operations.

Instead of maintaining separate processes for Amazon, your team can rely on Odoo to manage inventory availability, Sales Orders, fulfillment, packages, and tracking while our integration keeps the corresponding Amazon information synchronized.

If you sell through Amazon alongside other ecommerce, EDI, or direct sales channels, this creates a more centralized workflow and reduces the amount of manual data entry required to keep your systems aligned.
