How to Assign a Pricelist to a Customer in Odoo

Steersman’s Odoo supports a variety of different pricing options, and unless you’ve opted to implement a single price model, your prices will be managed with the help of a pricelist. Whether you choose a simple price list model or create a variety of complicated, calculated pricelists, once done, you’ll need to ensure that you assign them to their intended customers.

The first step is to identify the parent account, which can be done by opening the CRM, Sales, or Contacts app from the dashboard and navigating to the Customers view.

  • CRM > Sales > Customers
  • Sales > Orders > Customers
  • Contacts > filter by Customers

Once you have identified the parent account, click on the Sales & Purchases tab and locate the Pricelist entry under the Sales column. You’ll see that the default pricelist assigned to all your customers is the Public Pricelist. You can change this by clicking the Edit button at the top and then selecting the pricelist you want from the dropdown menu.

All users and child accounts under the parent will have the same pricelist assigned to them. If you open one of these, instead of the pricelist dropdown, you’ll find a message that redirects you to the parent account for editing. This is also handy if you want to update a customer account and don’t want to hunt for their parent account. Please note that all accounts under the parent will have the same pricelist applied to them.

Once the changes are saved, all of the customers under this parent account will now see the prices associated with their assigned pricelist, and any pricing changes will be automatically reflected for all of them.
