How to Assign Pricelists to Steersman's Odoo ecommerce

Steersman’s ecommerce allows you to enable the same pricelists you have configured for your Sales team for use on the website(s) as well. If you have more than one website, you can also choose which pricelists to make available for which site. Because all sales channels are supported by a single, centralized database, making pricing changes can be as simple as updating a single pricelist.

If you would like more information on how to create pricelists or learn about various pricing strategies available in Odoo, take a look at our Choosing a pricing strategy for your operation in Odoo article.

To view which pricelists are enabled, add pricelists for use on a website, or make any changes, select the Websites app from the main Dashboard and choose the website you’d like to work with. If you have not made any changes yet, the Default Pricelist will be set to Public Pricelist, and this same public list will be the only one listed in the Website Pricelists list.

If you have created and configured other pricelists to make them available on the website, you’ll need to simply add them to the Website Pricelists list via the Add a line button that will become visible once you’re in Edit mode.

You can also change the Default Pricelist by selecting a different one from the dropdown menu. This default list will be used for all customers who shop on this website without logging in, as well as for any customers who have logged in but have a pricelist assigned to them that has not been added to the Website Pricelists list.

Here is an example of a view where the default pricelist has been set to MSRP and several different pricelists have been enabled for website use:

If you have more than one website, for example, one for the US market and another for Canada, you will want to add different sets of pricelists for each. In the following example, our ‘Sample Company’ has three websites configured for it. One for the US market, one for the Canadian market, and a third for an outlet store in the US.

The US website has been configured to support all of the USD currency pricelists, and the USD Public Pricelist has been left as a default:

The Canadian website has been configured to support all of the CAD currency pricelists, and the CAD Public Pricelist has been left as a default:

And finally, the website for the Outlet store has been configured to support just the discounted USD pricelists, with the 40% Wholesale USD pricelist as the default:

Once all of your pricelists are configured and added to relevant clients and websites, you will need to rebuild the website product index by publishing all the changes you’ve made. Don’t forget this step, as the changes will not appear on the ecommerce side until this is done.
