Setting up Fiserv CardPointe Terminals in Odoo

To set up a terminal in Odoo, you first need to ensure that the terminal is plugged in, registered with your CardPointe account from Fiserv, and connected to the same network as the computer on which you are using Odoo.

  1. In the Accounting module, go to Configuration > Payment Acquirers and install the “CardPointe Credit Card Present” application. Once the application is installed, click activate to open the application. Cpt 1

  2. Steersman will provide you with the information needed to fill out the “production” section of the “Credentials” tab. Once that information has been entered, set the “State” field to “Enabled”.

    • Note that the “Enabled” mode is for processing payments on the live production database. Steersman also provides a test mode, allowing you to verify that the terminal is functioning correctly with a test credit card. Configure production creds cardpointe
  3. In the “Configuration” tab, you can change the display name, enable auto print of invoices and receipts, and select a payment journal.

    • By default, Odoo automatically routes payments made in the terminal to your default bank account. You can leave this as is or create a journal specifically for payments accepted via payment terminals. cpt 3
  4. Go to the Devices tab and then click the “REFRESH DEVICE LIST” button at the top left corner of the screen. Your terminal should show up in the device tab. (If you have multiple terminals, they will all show in the list.) Cpt4fakenumbers

  5. Assign the terminal to a desired workstation by clicking on the workstation modal in the top right corner and selecting the terminal in the “CardPointe Payment terminal” field. Multiple payment stations can be set up with their workstations and can be configured to have either their own printers and card terminals or to share these resources. Cpt 5

The terminal should now be ready to use.
