Install and Configure PrintNode for Steersman's Workstation Feature
The purpose of the following guide is to walk through the process of installing and configuring PrintNode on your computer and syncing your PrintNode Account in Odoo, to use Steersman’s Odoo Feature: Workstations.
Download the PrintNode Software
Go to PrintNode.com Downloads, locate the version that supports your computer’s operating system, and click DOWNLOAD. Once the file has been downloaded, open the file to run it.
Software Installation Process
Installation Requirements
You will need to install PrintNode on every device using Steersman’s Odoo Feature: Workstations to print shipping labels, documents, barcode labels, as well as our Auto-Printing Invoices and Receipts from the Charge Screen feature for Odoo ERP.
You will initially be presented with the License Agreement screen, where you will select I accept the agreement and then click NEXT until you reach the Select Additional Tasks screen.
- Create a desktop Shortcut: Enabled
- Install PrintNode as a Windows Service: Disabled
Then click Next.
On the Ready to Install step, click INSTALL.
After the installation, a pop-up titled ‘Completing the PrintNode Setup Wizard’ will appear.
- Launch PrintNode: Enabled
- View Change Log: Disabled
Then click FINISH.
The PrintNode app will be launched and immediately request your PrintNode account credentials. Enter your credentials, then click SIGN IN to connect your device to your PrintNode account.
Obtain your PrintNode API Key
Go to PrintNode.com Login and enter your credentials.
Then click on the API Keys link on the right of the screen.
Enter your password one more time to view the API Key, and then click NEXT.
This API Key will be used when syncing your PrintNode Account to Odoo in the next step.
Install and Configure Steersman’s PrintNode Feature in Odoo
Once you have connected your account, log into Odoo and go to the Apps app and search for ‘PrintNode SBS’, then click INSTALL
Create a PrintNode Account and Sync your Printers
Go to the Settings app, click on Printing > PrintNode Account, then click CREATE.
- Print Node Account Name: Assign a name to the PrintNode account
- API: Add the API Key for your PrintNode account
When you have finished, click SAVE, then click SYNC PRINTERS to sync printers from your PrintNode Account into Odoo.
