Steersman Odoo Feature: Workstation is flexible and easy to use, allowing your users to switch workstations according to their location/role. Each workstation can be uniquely configured to be a combination of the POS system with PDF printing capabilities, a dedicated shipping station, or simply an inventory tagging station.

Sync Printers to Odoo using PrintNode

Steersman uses PrintNode to sync your printers attached to your account directly to Odoo, giving you an overview of what printers are available to you.

Simple Workstation Configuration

A workstation can have three different types of printers configured:

  • Document Printer
  • Shipping Label Printer
  • Barcode Label Printer

Depending on your business’s use case, some or all of these can be configured.

In the POS section of the workstation, you will be able to set which terminal will be used and view which payment acquirers the terminal has access to.

Under the same workstation view, you will be able to see which users are currently connected to the workstation.

Payment Acquirer Configuration

On the actual payment acquirer, you will be able to indicate which workstations will have access to the acquirer, and even set a payment journal.

You can also register multiple devices to the payment acquirer by sending a registration code to the terminal. This code then links the device to the payment acquirer.

Every device registered to the payment acquirer will be listed under the Devices tab.

PDF Printing

With a document printer configured, you will be able to print documents from virtually anywhere as long as you click the print icon.

  • Print Sales Orders, Packing Slips, and Delivery Slips
  • Automatically print Delivery Slips, if configured to do so.

Label Printing

The workstation also supports printing labels and barcodes at various points in the workflow.

  • Shipping Labels
    • Shipping labels will print automatically when the delivery order is validated, if configured to do so.
  • Barcode Labels
    • Print barcode labels from the Product
    • Automatically prints labels for the quantity being manufactured on the Manufacturing Order. This feature can be configured to print only some of the labels if needed.
    • Print labels from the Stock Move
    • Print labels from the Bill of Material

Customize your own Labels

Workstations will also allow you to customize labels by configuring your own ZPL template. If you are unfamiliar with ZPL, Steersman has provided links at the bottom of the template that will help you cover ZPL basics.

Automatically Print Product Allocation Labels on Receipts and Transfers in Odoo

When validating an internal transfer or vendor receipt, Odoo can now generate ZPL labels that show where each group of items is going next — including any sales orders they're destined for. Each label is printed based on the pickings the received items are allocated to (i.e., where they’ll be moved next). Labels are printed via PrintNode to a dedicated Zebra printer called the Inventory Allocation Label Printer.
