Creating a page for your website

Creating new pages is a simple way to add content and keep your customers informed.

To create a new page (aka “web page,” “landing page,” or “static page”) for your website, you first must go into the Websites App from your Odoo dashboard.

On the top header, click the Pages tab. Here, you will see a list of landing pages already created. Click the Create button at the top left to open the template.

  1. Name: Page title
  2. Websites: Check the checkbox associated with your website to make sure the page gets published.
  3. Content: Build out your page with a variety of pods.
  4. SEO: Learn more about SEO page features in the section below.

  1. Website Slug: This text appears at the end of your page’s URL after the backslash of your website’s main web address.
    - This will autogenerate from the page title you added once you click the Save button at the top left, but you can edit it to create a URL that works best for the page.
  2. Meta Title: This text is displayed on search engine result pages to indicate the page’s content.
  3. Meta Description: This is a summary of the page content displayed under the Meta Title
  4. Disable H1: A standard branded header will be automatically set if this is left unchecked. Pagecreate5 Example of the H1 title
  5. Disallow indexing: Web pages are found by being indexed; check this box if you don’t want search engines to analyze this page.

Remember to Save your pages while and after creating them!

Populating your Page

Once your page is created, you can build its content with “pods” (page sections). The following is a list of base-level pods:

Publishing your page

After you have populated your page and are ready to have it live on the website, you need to publish it. In the Websites App, click on the Publish tab. Once there, click the Create button. On the next screen, you will select the website you want the page to publish to (if you have multiple websites) and check the Pages checkbox. Click Save at the top, then click Start.
