Steersman’s Odoo applications for heavy-duty auto parts retailers and distributors

Our Odoo application suite for heavy-duty auto parts sellers includes a range of large and small modules. Here are a few of the most interesting ones.

Automotive product cores

Our automotive product cores applications for Odoo accommodate all the standard operations done with product and their cores, such as brake assemblies, transmissions, or car batteries. Steersman’s auto product core applications track which products have cores, interchangeability of cores, prices, and quantity of cores per product, and more. We track core eligibility as well as core banking on both the sales and purchasing sides. Returned dirty cores automatically create credit memos if eligibility exists, and product purchases establish eligibility with expiration dates. Our automotive cores suite consists of multiple modules and interacts with Odoo’s Sales, Purchase, Inventory and other applications.

ACES and PIES data structures

Steersman built the ACES and PIES data structures into Odoo, enabling the storage of Autocare’s datasets and the import/export of data in ACES and PIES formats.

Opticat and other data feeds

We have pre-made integration capabilities to load product catalog data from Opticat and product pricing via standardized HDATP format pricelist files.

Unified order taking across channels

Steersman’s POS-style sales order management applications allows using the Sale Order screen in Odoo for fast point-of-sale checkout. It is built for B2B automotive parts sales from multiple warehouses and accommodates scenarios where customers order combinations of products that are available for pick up in the showroom, must be brought out from the warehouse, drop shipped from vendors, or loaded in special areas (example: pick up a new transmission from the dock in the back). The POS app from Steersman offers fast order checkout and payment, allowing various items to be routed for picking in different ways from a single order, depending on the chosen delivery method.

Managing sales registers and shipping stations

Our Workstations Management for Odoo application allows users to configure “workstations” that they can select. Workstations can define the credit card terminal that should process the user’s transactions, printers that would print invoices, delivery slips, picking slips, product bar code labels, and shipping labels, and also define how a specific workstation can “collect” money and where such money should be routed. We enable printing directly to printers (regular and Zebra-type) without requiring Raspberry Pi devices, and send transactions directly to NMI-powered card terminals. This way, the salesperson can use the cloud system and select the workstation to use devices at the cash register or shipping station they start using in the store.

Applying down payments to multiple invoices

Our Advanced Odoo deposits application allows fast collection of down payments, and then partial application of such deposits across multiple invoices related to the order. It is beneficial if your customers tend to place large orders for a variety of parts, such as a part list for a large truck repair or maintenance job, where these orders may need to be split into multiple pickups or deliveries.

Heavy-duty automotive parts online sales

Our High-Performance Ecommerce and PIM applications and microservices allow for managing a large auto parts catalog, comprising up to a few million products. It provides the best technical SEO capabilities, along with lightning-fast page loading, faceted filters, and a smart website search. Data management tooling is also provided to organize products, attributes (and their corresponding site filters). Our ecommerce technology accommodates multiple price lists, easy re-orders, and more, and all managed in Odoo.

For extra large automotive parts catalogs where managing each individual price may not be practical in Odoo, Steersman provides our Odoo Pricing Engine application, which allows setting groups of products and customers, and creating dynamic formulas for calculating prices of products, including when products are sold in “packages”.
